With a career spanning 30 years in Australia and Sri Lanka, Chrys is the primary contact for progressing Caason Group’s investment opportunities. Chrys has strong sector experience in finance, shipping and logistics, retail, real estate, start-ups and industry associations.
Chrys has had a long-term connection to Caason; having worked with us on several investments in Sri Lanka since 2014. He was pleased to join the Caason team based out of our Melbourne headquarters in 2019. By taking over relationships traditionally managed by our MD/CEO, Chrys is freeing time for our company head to focus on our strategic direction.
In Chrys’ most recent role based in Sri Lanka, he was MD/CEO of Park Lane Consultants and MD of its sister firm Stormcave Investments. In both roles he structured and facilitated foreign direct investments. During this time he also founded Infonic Global, a media company which became the representative for the Forbes Asia Magazine in Sri Lanka.
In Australia, Chrys was an integral part of the leadership group at Goldman Sachs in their Equity Finance division for over 10 years where he was responsible for managing high net worth client relationships along with new client acquisitions. As a standout operational milestone, he was part of a team that successfully managed Goldman Sachs’ smooth acquisition of the equity finance division of JBWere in 2005. Prior to this Chrys had worked in retail banking and margin lending at ANZ.
With a passion for supporting industry development internationally, Chrys was invited by the Government of Sri Lanka to head two state institutions in Colombo; the Skills Development Fund Limited and the National Institute of Business Management. He was also a consultant to a capital market development program initiated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC).
Chrys is currently undertaking a Masters Program in Banking & Finance to complement his post graduate qualifications in Management from the Monash University (Australia) and is a member of the Australian Institute of Management.
