Trevor Haines brings 35 years’ business and innovation experience to the Caason Group team, having joined in early 2019. He has a passion for commercialising environmental technology and given our patents in plastics to diesel, via our significant shareholding in FEI Investments, there is a natural fit.
Previously, Trevor was a board member for SECOS (ASX: SES) where he was Finance Director and then Business Development Director; working in an executive capacity in both roles. He remains a significant SECOS shareholder today. SECOS makes bio plastics out of renewable resources and Trevor was part of their global search for better ways to operate an environmentally sustainable business; this is how he was introduced to Caason.
Prior to SECOS, Trevor successfully founded Stellar Films Group as independent business offshoot of ICI’s Cast Films Division. For 15 years, Trevor was one of Stellar’s Executive Directors and one of the four shareholders. Stellar, an innovator in plastic films, was then sold to SECOS.
Trevor had worked at ICI (now Orica) for 18 years in various technical and senior management roles. One of his greatest achievements was taking the organisation’s monthly reporting phase from ten working days to three; allowing ICI to become one of the fastest companies to report to the ASX at the time.
Trevor remains treasurer and proud life member of Australia Malaysia Business Council Victoria (AMBC) allowing him to support industry development among Asia Pacific trading partners.
He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting, Economics and IT) from Melbourne University and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.
