Caason Group owned cattle station; Aileron, celebrates success of achieving Organic Status and access to new frontiers.

Aileron Pastoral Holdings celebrated a significant milestone in its journey to expand and develop the operations of its Northern Territory cattle station achieving Organic Certification from Southern Cross Certified in July 2023.

Having received its initial “Organic in Certification” status in October 2019, the group has withstood the dual gauntlets of drought and a global pandemic, to now be awarded Organic status for beef and pasture. “We have worked tirelessly over the last three and a half years to have the property recognised as an operation with strict organic standards without the use of banned chemicals or synthetic inputs” said Craig Astill, the Managing Director and CEO of the Caason group. “This success allows us to open new doors and opportunities, and to be able to cater to markets which were previously inaccessible without meeting the national standards required for Organic and Bio-Dynamic produce”, he added.

Aileron’s sister property; the Oolloo Hay Farm is also expecting full Organic certification shortly from Southern Cross Certified. Oolloo is currently organic in conversion for Rhodes grass hay, lucerne, buffel hay and oats all of which are currently under crop. Plans are in place for industrial hemp to be grown on a broadacre basis in FY24.
